Five Boca area Tenet hospitals honored for quality

Tenet Healthcare Corporation has announced that five hospitals it operates in Palm Beach County have received 44 CIGNA quality designations, meaning the hospitals have met rigorous quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice.
Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach received 11 designations: angioplasty, coronary artery bypass graft, cardiac pacemaker implant, colon surgery, adult craniotomy, gi hemorrhage, heart attack, heart failure, total hip replacement, irregular heartbeat and adult pneumonia.
West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton received eight designations: Caesarean section, laparoscopic gall bladder removal, heart attack, heart failure, total abdominal hysterectomy, adult pneumonia, stroke and vaginal delivery.
Also honored were Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and St. Mary’s Medical Center, both in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center
“We are pleased that our hospitals have been recognized by CIGNA for the high quality care that we provide,” said Marsha Powers, senior vice president of operations for Tenet’s Florida region. “Our physicians and staff work very hard to provide quality patient care, and these designations are evidence of the high standard of care we deliver every day.”
