Businesses throughout Palm Beach County, the state of Florida and every state in the nation are watching the economy and looking for signs of improvement.

The Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce – the largest such organization in the county – is planning a workshop designed to help businesses not only now to survive, but thrive, during the economic crisis.

The Chamber, in fact, is inviting the entire community to participate in a free comprehensive workshop designed to help local businesses get “back to the basics.”

The workshop, “Back to Basics: A Guide to Business Survival,” will be held Friday, Dec. 5 from 8 to 10 a.m. at NCCI Holdings, Inc., 901 Peninsula Corporate Circle, Boca Raton.

“During this workshop, we will get back to the fundamentals by exploring basic budgeting, zero-base budgeting, and cash inflow and outflow,” said Phyllis Cosgrave, president & CEO of CorpSource Solutions, Inc and “Back to Basics” expert panelist.

“We will discuss cost-effective marketing during a challenging economic time,” added another expert panelist, Luis Mago, CEO and chief strategy officer of N4L Strategy Consulting.

“Do you want to get your piece of the bailout? This workshop will show you how to get money from the federal government for your business,” said Ian Berkowitz, attorney with Berkowitz & Associates, PA and a Boca Raton News columnist. He will also be on the panel.

“This event will leave you with tools to implement immediately and help your business during these challenging times,” said Troy McLellan, president and CEO of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, who will be moderating the workshop. “Find out where your business is, where you need to be, and most importantly - how to get there”.

Participants with specific questions may submit them along with an RSVP to: info@bocaratonchamber.com or contact Jane Jordan at 561-395-4433.

With a membership of more than 1,700 companies, the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce represents more than 35,000 employees in eastern, central, and western Boca Raton and beyond. It has been in operation since 1952.
