The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce named Michael Crane from Crane’s Beach House as 2008-2009 Small Business Person of the Year its recent Luminary Gala at the Delray Beach Marriott. 

The award recognizes a business leader with a proven track record, product innovation, outstanding growth and economic achievement and commitment to community.

The other three finalists were: Todd L’Herrou, Electronic Village Systems, Scott Miller, Miller Physical Therapy and David Reeves, Reeves-Laverdure Public Relations, Inc.

Other recipients were: Sun-Sentinel, business of the year and Ken Ellingsworth, Chamber Lifetime Achievement Award winner. Winners of the Ken Ellingsworth Awards were Angela DeDomenico, Cruise Planners; Kelli Freeman, Hamilton House Oceanfront Condos;
Chuck Halberg, Stuart & Shelby Development, Inc.; Jose Herrera, office of the president of Florida Atlantic University; Christine King, Get Fit!; Gregg Weiss, Raymond James & Associates and Mary Wong, Office Depot Foundation.
