National Photography/Digital Imagery Exhibition 2008
Featuring traditional and digital photography, as well as digital imagery. More than 30 images were selected from hundreds of entries. During the exhibition's opening reception,  the top three images will be revealed.
Opening reception and awards presentation:
Tuesday, October 7th from 5pm - 8pm.
Competition jurist: Terry Barrett, PhD, art critic, author of several books on photography and art criticism, and professor at the Ohio State University.
Presentation and Gallery Walk:
Wednesday, October 8th, 11am - noon / presentation, noon - 1pm / art walk.
Dr. Barrett will give an incisive presentation titled: 'Appreciating Life through Art,' in room BB111 in Meldon Hall. Immediately following the lecture will be an art walk with open discussion.

The City of Boca Raton Recreation Services Department and the Mainstream Teen Center is hosting the 8^th Annual Teen Fall Festival & Battle of the Bands. Local teen bands will compete for the honor of “Best Teen Band”. This event will take place Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 5:00PM – 9:00PM on the City Hall North Parking Lot, located at 201 W. Palmetto Park Road.

Free entertainment will include a G-Force Spin Ride, Gladiator Joust, Velcro Sticky Wall and Airbrush Tattoo artists.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase the day of the event.  Admission is free of charge, courtesy of the Boca Raton Recreation Services Department.

CARE Addiction Resources is offering a new program to provide support for family members of addicts, whether or not they are in treatment.

Dr. Mitch Wallick, CARE's founder and director, are offering this small professionally moderated ongoing therapy group free for the first session, and then for $$25 per family per session thereafter

“If you are tired of being manipulated, controlled by someone else’s insane behaviors, the family support group series at CARE is specially designed to help you,” said Wallick

C.A.R.E. Addiction Resources is located in North Palm Beach, Florida.  Founded by Dr. Mitch Wallick who holds with Ph.D.'s in Counseling and Addictions, C.A.R.E. employs holistic healing modalities and endeavors to treat the underlying psychological factors that predicate addictions.
