Boca Raton police are investigating a robbery Wednesday. The victims said they lost more than $500,000 worth of jewelry.

Two jewelry couriers from New York were reportedly robbed of more than $500,000 worth of gems outside a Boca Raton hotel just after 6 p.m. Nov. 12, police said.
Public Information Manager Mark Economou said officers responded to the parking lot of the Embassy Suites Hotel on NW 53rd Street where two men – identified as jewelry couriers – reported four men robbed them.
The victims said the gems were stolen after a car pulled behind
them and blocked them while they were parking.
The victims said the suspects broke the windows of the vehicle, Economou said. They said they struggled with the suspects who ripped off a vest worn by one of the men, which contained loose gems.
The suspects then reportedly took the keys and opened the
Trunk, stealing a suitcase containing more jewelry, police said.
Both victims say the suspects wore masks and left in a newer white four-door car, possibly a Chevy Impala, going in an unknown direction.
Police said one of the couriers received minor injuries and was treated by Boca Raton Fire-Rescue. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Juan Carlos Pijuan at 561-338-1387.
