FAU symphony to perform Russian concert

The department of music in the School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will open the 2008-09 season with a concert of Russian, Hungarian and Finnish music presented by the FAU Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on the Boca Raton campus. Admission is free, though a donation is requested.
The Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Laura Joella, who is the director of orchestral studies at FAU. She is also the music director/conductor of New England Music Summer Camp’s concert orchestra in Sidney, Maine.
