Fire damages apartment in Boca Raton

Boca Raton Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call about 7 a.m. Nov. 24 about a fire in an apartment on NW 13^th Street. The four residents were at home when the fire broke out and attempted to use the on-site fire extinguisher, but were unsuccessful   Public Information Officer Frank Correggio said fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the apartment.  The crews entered and found fire on the screen porch and quickly extinguished it.  Smoke and heat damage was noted, but there were no injuries, Correggio said.
