Food program boss

Food program boss

September 18th, 2008

Alex Stevens, the new director of the Palm Beach County Community Food Alliance, stands with one of two trucks the alliance uses to distribute fresh food to local nonprofits. Last year, the trucks delivered more than one million pounds of fresh produce, meat and other items to local food banks, hot meals programs, churches and social service agencies, at no cost to the agencies or their clients. In the new position, Stevens will oversee the alliance, build community partnerships and examine ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the community food provider supply chain. The food program is part of the United Way of Palm Beach County.
