October 7th, 2008
FROM STAFF REPORTS
U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, D-District 22, hosted his semi-annual Service Academy Breakfast this past Saturday for local students.
The breakfasts provide area high school students with the opportunity to meet representatives of the military service academies and ask questions about the application process.
“This event provides a unique opportunity for students considering a career in military service to ask questions and gain valuable information,” Klein said. “I am delighted to bring together some of our best and brightest local students with representatives of the military service academies.”
He also said: “I encourage all of our young people to consider service-oriented careers, whether they be in the military or another field.”
Saturday’s event was held on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. More than 30 students attended from several area high schools.
On hand were representatives of West Point, the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, the United States Army and the Air Force ROTC.
Students and parents interested in attending the next Service Academy Breakfast can call Congressman Klein’s office at (561) 651-7594 for more information.
