The West Boca Diagnostic Imaging Center, a service of West Boca Medical Center, has installed two, new state-of-the-art ultrasound systems that provide advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities that streamline ultrasound exams for patients and clinicians, according to hospital officials.
“Ultrasound imaging is hugely beneficial because it is a relatively low cost and a non-invasive way to look inside the body,” said Gary Grandovic, director of West Boca Diagnostic Imaging.
“With these state-of-the-art systems, we are acquiring an extremely high level of diagnostic information and can provide answers for our patients more quickly and easily. Plus, results from the ultrasound exam often reduce the need for more invasive procedures.”
In addition to the new ultrasound equipment, West Boca Diagnostic Imaging Center has recently added a second digital mammography suite to aid in the detection of breast abnormalities.
“We are very excited about adding the second digital mammography suite to West Boca Medical Center’s comprehensive diagnostic services,” said Chief Executive Officer Walt Mickens. “Our hospital is dedicated to women’s health and to the early detection of breast cancer, and this imaging technology will aid us in that mission.”
Because it can be used in the most delicate conditions without major side effects, ultrasound has become one of the most popular diagnostic methods among both patients and physicians, said Grandovic. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce moving images of the body’s internal soft tissue structures.
A new 64-slice, high resolution CT scanner was installed March 31, officials said. This technology allows for faster CT exams with less radiation exposure. CARE Dose4D™ delivers a combination of maximum image quality at minimum dose.
