The nonprofit organization Boca Ballet Theatre has received a $3,000 donation from Target, the national retail chain. Target, which donates 5 percent of all sales back to local communities, has been a corporate sponsor of BBT for the last 14 years.
"Boca Ballet Theatre is the perfect example of what Target views as family entertainment,” said Erika Lyday, Target's executive team leader, human resources. “Our partnership with BBT began in 1994 with Dan Guin [executive director and co-artistic director for the Boca Ballet Theatre] launching the Educational Outreach programs to the Palm Beach County School system, allowing students to be bused in free of charge to see performances of some of South Florida's greatest dances.”
Lyday and her 10-year-old daughter Linda Lyday, a student at St. Joan of Arc School in Boca Raton, presented the check for $3,000 to Boca Ballet Theatre's Co-Artistic Directors Jane Tyree and Dan Guin. The presentation was made at Florida Atlantic University just before BBT's final performance of “Spring Dances.”
