Drug Arrest
Boca Raton police arrested a motorist on a drug charge after his
car was stopped on West Yamato Road about 10 p.m. on Jan. 27, police
said. He was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Police searched the man and also found a substance said to be xanax,
the report said. He was taken to the police station and then to the
county jail, said police.
Lost Phone
A Boca Raton resident told police Jan. 27 that he lost his cellular
telephone valued at $240 while he was shopping at a local supermarket,
police said. He told police he did not see anyone take it.
Warrants Served
After Boca Raton police stopped a car on North Federal Highway about
1 a.m. Jan. 27, they determined that a passenger in the vehicle was
wanted on two warrants filed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s
Office. He was arrested on the warrants, and also charged with possession
of less than 20 grams of marijuana, police said. He was processed
at the police station and taken to the county jail, said police.
In a separate incident, Boca Raton police took a man into custody
Jan. 24 on an outstanding warrant from the Broward Sheriff’s
Office. The suspect was also taken to the county jail.
Bike Stolen
A Boca Raton resident told police Jan. 24 that someone stole his
$250 mountain bike while it was parked at his home.
Pool Damaged
A resident of Boca Raton told police Jan. 24 that someone vandalized
his pool pump and heater system, causing an estimated $1,000 damage.
The damage occurred in the morning while the resident was not at home,
police said. A report says the vandal also cut the electrical wires
and left the saw blade behind.
