Sign Vandalism
Boca Raton police are investigating a report from a resident that a person or persons spray-painted swastikas on a stop sign and street sign on Bethel Boulevard. The vandalism was discovered Feb. 2, said police.
Purse Stolen
A Boca Raton woman told police Feb. 2 that someone stole her handbag. She said the last time she saw it, it was hanging from the back of her seat while she was having lunch at a local restaurant, police said. The bag contained a wallet, credit card, driver’s license, sunglasses, cell phone and cash.
Beer Taken
The cashier at a gasoline station on West Yamato Road told police Feb. 1 that someone entered the convenience mart section, stole two bottles of beer and broke them in the parking lot, police said. The suspect fled in an unknown direction, police said.
Drug Charge
While investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle, Boca Raton police arrested a juvenile for possession of 23.5 grams of marijuana. The incident took police on NW 18th Street about 9:45 p.m. Feb. 1, police said.
Car Entered
A resident told Boca Raton police Feb. 1 that someone entered his car and stole an iPod from the center console.
Theft Foiled
A juvenile reportedly tried to steal two cans of Red Bull drinks from a South Federal Highway gasoline station just before 11 p.m. Feb. 1, police said. According to the report, the attended grabbed them out of the youth’s pocket. He ran away before police came, the report said.
Store Vandalized
Boca Raton police said a vandal or vandals stole lettering and rearranged lettering around a window of a business on North Federal Highway Feb. 2. The cost to repair was estimated at more than $500, said police.
