Missing Person

Delray Beach police are investigating a report of a missing person.

Public Information Officer Jeff Messer said Robert Ratner, 79, of 2521-D Pansy Lane, Delray Beach, has been gone for more than a day.  He is five-foot-five, 200 pounds, with receding white hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing blue pants and an unknown color or style shirt.

Messer said Ratner may be suffering from some form of dementia.

He said Ratner left his home to return a 2007 Pontiac G6 rental car bearing Florida tag V25 WXV to Hertz. The car was rented out of Palm Beach International Airport, but was supposed to be returned to the Hertz in Delray Beach. To date, it has not been returned.

911 Call

Boca Raton police responded to a local convenience store following a 911 hang-up call about 10:40 p.m. on Feb. 13, police said.  The store manager told officers a man came into the store and assaulted him, and had previously trespassed at the establishment.  The suspect was arrested for assault, trespass after notice and resisting without violence, police said.

Pipe Stolen

Boca Raton police said Feb. 14 that someone used a torch to cut the lock off a trailer at a local firm. Once inside, the intruder stole a 100-foot roll of copper pipe, police said.  The report said the intruder also used a bolt cutter to remove a padlock from another storage trailer, but nothing was taken.

Break Attempt

Police said someone tried to pry open the front door of a Boca Raton home Feb. 14, but was not successful, police said.
