Shots Fired
Boca Raton police are investigating a report of shots fired just after 2:20 a.m. March 8 in the parking lot of the parking lot of Denny's Restaurant, 1311 West Palmetto Park Road, police said.
Public Information Officer Sandra Boonenberg said that when police arrived, all the parties involved had fled. Witnesses described the vehicle as a gray Chevy Impala.
Officers search the area, including I-95, but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle, said Booneneberg. According to witnesses, the Chevy Impala was possibly seen earlier in the evening in downtown Boca Raton.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police Tip Line at 561-416-3350.
Luggage No Threat
The Shoppes of Logger’s Run was evacuated and students at Logger’s Run Middle School were allowed to go home Monday afternoon after two suspicious pieces of luggage were found in the shopping center parking lot about 3 p.m.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Paul Miller said officers examined the two bags. One was empty, he said, the other contained some books and possibly a computer keyboard, PBSO investigators said.
“There was nothing criminal found,” said Miller.
The PBSO spokesman said it appeared to women carried the bags into a shipping store and asked to send them. Apparently, they were turned down and left the bags in the lot. Miller said they may have taken some items out.
Concealed Weapon
Boca Raton police arrested a 27-year-old man about 6:50 p.m. Feb. 16 and charged him with possession of a concealed weapon (brass knuckles), said police. The man’s car was stopped on Palmetto Park Road. He was processed and released on his own recognizance, said police.
Windows Smashed
A Boca Raton resident told police Feb. 16 that someone smashed two windows on his van. The vehicle was parked on NW 13th Street at the time, police said.
