Drug Charges
Boca Raton police arrested a 26-year-old man about 1:20 a.m. March 11 and charged him with possession of cocaine, police said. The suspect’s car was stopped on North Federal Highway. Police said a passenger in the vehicle was wanted on a warrant from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court to face a charge of possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a beverage violation. Both men were processed and taken to the county jail, police said.
Laptop Theft
Boca Raton police said a man entered a guest’s room at a local hotel and stole a laptop computer and personal items belonging to the hotel patron. The loss was estimated at $6,600, said police. The police report said the man went into the room while a housekeeper was cleaning it and told her it was his room. The theft remains under investigation, police said.
Window Smashed
A resident of north Boca Raton told police March 10 that someone smashed the rear window of his car. Nothing was taken, police said.
Purses Stolen
Two women from Boca Raton told police March 10 that purses were stolen from their vehicles, which were both parked on North Federal Highway.
Business Vandalized
Boca Raton police received a report March 11 that a business on SE Fourth Street was vandalized. Someone sprayed graffiti on the rear of the building, said police.
Wallet Taken
A resident of David told Boca Raton police March 10 that someone stole his wallet while he was shopping at the Publix Store on NE Fifth Avenue, police said. The man said the wallet contained $150 in cash, a debit card and three forms of identification, said police.
