DUI Charge

Boca Raton police arrested a motorist about 1:20 a.m. March 25 on East Country Club Boulevard and charged him with driving while under the influence of alcohol, police said.  He refused to take a breath test.  Police took him to the county jail, the report said.

Strikes Officer

Boca Raton police arrested a woman during an investigation of suspicious activity on NW Second Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. March 25.  Police said the woman, age 19, struck an officer in the chest with two closed fists.  She was charged with felony battery and taken to the county jail, police said.

Window Smashed

The owner of a BMW convertible told police he parked his car at a local restaurant and when he came out, he found that the left front window was shattered.  Nothing was missing from the car, he told police.

Drug Charge

Boca Raton police arrested a man just after midnight March 25 and charged him with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.  He was taken into custody following a traffic stop.  He was processed at the police station, and then released on his own recognizance, police said.

Van Burglarized

A Boca Raton resident told police March 25 that someone burglarized his 2003 work van in the parking lot of a downtown bar, said police.  He said the side door was popped out and $1,080 worth of equipment was taken, according to the report.

Shoplifting Report

Boca Raton police arrested a 32-year-old man about 12:30 p.m. March 25 for allegedly stealing abouit $125 worth of cosmetics from the Publix Supermarket on NE Fifth Avenue, police said.
