Pope John Paul II High School's National Honor Society recently organized
a canned food drive for the Farm Worker's Coordinating Council of
Palm Beach County.
During the weeklong drive, students collected more 2,400 pounds of
food and 10 cases of water -- 700 more pounds of food than last year's
collection.
"I was impressed how the PJP II students responded when we explained
how so many people in our community that were in need could use our
help," said Rich Casey, faculty adviser of the National Honor
Society. "We are thrilled with the outcome of this very successful
food drive."
"We are very impressed with the results of this year's food drive
and grateful for the generosity of Pope John Paul students,"
said Jorge Gomez, executive director of the Farm Worker's Coordinating
Council. "This collection alone will help more than 300 families."
Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton is a Catholic, co-educational
institution serving students of the Diocese of Palm Beach and Archdiocese
