Weeks before the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ITC) get underway, the ITC “Volleygirls” appeared at Martier Thursday during Art & Jazz on the Ave to help hype the 2008 Delray Beach ITCs.

The girls were styled by Aldrick Bradley, as well as the hair and makeup, was endorsed by the team of SpaEleven.
The VolleyGirls are the popular entourage which promotes the international tournament to the local community.

The VolleyGirls, a 12-person team ranging from ages 21-31, hail from Yugoslavia, Russia, Romania, Germany, Jamaica and the U.S. Acting as ambassadors for their countries and cultural backgrounds, the girls are emblematic of the colorfully diversified nature of the ITC.

“When we started the VolleyGirl campaign last year, we thought it would be popular, but never realized the extent to which these girls became the iconic figures of the event they did,” said John Butler, Executive Director of the ITC. “Now they’ve received national recognition, endorsement deals with incredible fashion boutiques and make-up lines. it’s all just exploded in such a fantastic way. They’ve beceom an ideal representation of the event.”

The VolleyGirls will attend a variety of area events including live college radio talk shows, Garlic Fest, and other exciting establishments leading up to the tournament. On site during the week, the girls are the life of the party at sponsor functions, special events, on the Beck’s Light Stage, and of course, center court.

“These girls are infectiously enthusiastic, undeniably engaging, and are the vision of our ‘ATP Award of Excellence’ winning event. Growing the image, presentation and awareness of the VolleyGirls is a priority for the ITC, as well as a wonderful opportunity for the entire tennis community to promote the excellence and elegance of the sport,” said Marlena Hall, Media & Marketing Manager of the Delray Beach ITC and coordinator for the girls.

Be sure to look for the girls throughout the month of February all over the avenue.
