Stallions advance to state title game

American Heritage-Delray earned a berth in the Class 1A state title
game with a 28-7 win over Glades Day Friday.
The Stallions (12-1) ran on 45 of a possible 47 plays to overwhelm
the Gators (10-3) and earn a berth in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando for
Friday’s game.
Heritage will face Tallahassee-North Florida Christian.
Quarterback Justin Feagin ran 19 times for 139 yards, and James
Bradley added 131 yards on 16 carries as the Stallions amassed 336
yards rushing as a team.
Jake Walker scored twice and Bradley once for the Stallions, who
knocked off the Gators for the second time this season and ousted
the defending 1A state champions.
Boys basketball
Santaluces defeated West Boca Raton 56-39.
Corey Rivero scored 15 points to lead the Chiefs (3-0) to the rout
of the Bulls.
Atlantic topped Lake Worth 65-49. Emmanuel Tiluscar had 12 points
and 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles (2-2) past the Trojans.
Spanish River defeated Park Vista 40-30. John Shannon had 12 points
and 10 rebounds, leading the Sharks (4-1) past the Cobras (0-3).
Saint Andrew’s routed Florida Christian 72-42. Jordan Bargas
scored 17 points to lead the Scots (4-0) past the Patriots.
Inlet Grove defeated Pope John Paul II 53-34.
Layton Haynes and Jessie Hubbard each scored 13 points to lead the
Hurricanes (2-0) past the Eagles (2-2).
Zion Lutheran topped Boca Raton Christian 65-28.
Charlie Cowley had 10 points, but the Blazers (2-1) fell to the
Lions.
Boys soccer
Juan Castellon scored two goals to help Royal Palm Beach tie American
Heritage 4-4 Friday.
Russell Miller and Richie Bukowski each added a goal for the Wildcats
(6-0-1) against the Stallions (4-3-1).
Boca Raton shut out Santaluces 6-0. Colby Burdette had two goals and
one assist to lead the Bobcats (9-0) over the Chiefs.
Girls soccer
West Boca Raton edged Fort Lauderdale-Pine Crest 1-0.
Molly McFadden scored the game’s lone goal, off an assist
from Brieanna Walters, as the Bulls (9-2-2) edged the Panthers (6-3-2).
Highlands Christian topped Boca Christian 3-1.
Andrea Bonorandi scored and Linzi Martin assisted, but the Blazers
(5-3) fell to the Eagles.
